Jitan Ram Manjhi was Snooping for BJP, Alleges Nitish Kumar

Patna: Former Bihar CM and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) party founder Jitan Ram Manjhi was “snooping on Mahagathbandhan allies” for the BJP, alleged JDU chief and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

“I told Jitan Ram Manjhi to merge his party with the JDU or leave. Manjhi was in regular touch with BJP leaders. His exit was a good riddance,” the Bihar CM said.

Nitish Kumar spoke this in connection to the recent rift with Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) party founder Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Nitish Kumar further added, “He (Manjhi) wanted to be part of the June 23 meeting of opposition leaders but I had apprehensions that he might leak issues/matters that will be discussed on June 23.”

Manjhi also hit back hit back at Nitish Kumar and said, “Does Nitish Kumar have any proof that I met BJP leaders? Has Nitish Kumar not formed the government with the BJP? He is showing a lollipop to Tejashwi Yadav. Nitish will join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) but will not make Tejashwi Yadav CM.”

Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party HAM is a part of the Mahagathbandhan or Grand Alliance, which includes the RJD, JDU, Congress, CPI (M-L), CPI, and CPM.

Bihar minister Santosh Suman, son of Jitan Ram Manjhi, tendered his resignation from the state cabinet alleging ‘pressure’ to merge HAM with the JDU.
