Jr Clerk Caught Red-Handed While Taking Bribe In Kendrapara

Kendrapara: Odisha Vigilance officials have arrested a dealing assistant (junior clerk) at Pattamundai Block Education Officer’s office in Kendrapara for accepting Rs 10,000 bribe.

The accused has been identified as Manas Dhal.

According to reports, Dhal has demanded Rs 10,000 from a teacher for a drawl of his arrear salary pending for over a year.

Following a complaint by the teacher, the Vigilance officials laid a trap and arrested Dhala red-handed. Simultaneous searches are underway at two locations related to Dhala from the disproportionate assets (DA) angle.

A case (No 9/2023) under Section 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, has been registered in this connection at the Cuttack Vigilance police station. Further investigation is in progress against the accused Dhala.
