Kejriwal to Meet Mamata in Kolkata Amid AAP-Centre Row

Kolkata: In a bid to strengthen Opposition unity, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal will meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna, the state secretariat in Kolkata on Tuesday. The meeting is scheduled for around 2 pm.

The meeting comes after the union government brought in an executive order that overrides the Supreme Court verdict on transfers and postings of officers that favoured the Delhi Government led by Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party.

Other issues like forming a collective strategy to take on the BJP in 2024 could also be part of points of discussion when Kejriwal meets Mamata Banerjee. Mamata Banerjee has already met several Opposition leaders including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, RJD’s Tejaswi Yadav, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy. Except Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, who dis not promise anything related to NJD’s participation in the Opposition unity, all these leaders have been keen on a common strategy against the ruling BJP.

On the other hand Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is also meeting heads of different parties with the dream of Opposition unity ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
