Mamata Sends Sweet Mangoes to the Man with Whom She Has Bitter Relations

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has sent mangoes as a gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reported the Statesman. The TMC chief has a bitter relationship with the PM and wants him and the BJP out of power in 2024 LS polls.

Mamata Banerjee reportedly sent packets of state’s top varieties of mangoes – Himsagar, Fazli, Langra and Laxman Bhog to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Draupadi Murmu and several other dignitaries.

For the past decade since she came to power, she has made it a tradition to send mangoes to major leaders of the country every year. Last year she sent mangoes to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi.

In an interview with actor Akshay Kumar, PM Modi revealed that Mamata keeps sending him sweets and even kurta pyajamas on the occasion of Durga Puja.

Some feel by sending mangoes Mamata Didi may be trying to diminish acrimony.

The Statesman reported that the consignment of mangoes from Mamata Banerjee is to reach PM Narendra Modi on Friday.
