Yamuna Floods Delhi, Water Reaches SC, Submerges Rajghat

New Delhi: Water from overflowing Yamuna flooded several areas in Delhi the water levels of the Yamuna River rose to an all-time high on Thursday.

Yamuna water reached Supreme Court and submerged Rajghat, reported NDTV. Delhi government shut down schools, colleges, crematoriums, and even water treatment plants because of the Yamuna floods.

The Central Water Commission has predicted that the water levels will fall on Friday. Areas in ITO and Rajghat are still submerged. The floodwaters reached the Supreme Court, located in the central region of Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Union Home Minister Amit Shah from France to take stock of the flood-like situation in parts of Delhi.
