King Charles Inaugurates Queen Elizabeth’s Statue

Britain’s King Charles III inaugurated a statue of Queen Elizabeth in York of England. It is the late queen’s first statue since her death on September 8 this year.

This more than 6 feet high statue was to be installed to honour Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years reign. Although it was completed in August, it could not be inaugurated during her lifetime.

In this statue, the queen is shown holding the orb and scepter, as symbols of power.

As per the BBC, this statue is made of French lepine limestone. It weighs around tonnes. It is displayed in front of a cathedral in York. Queen Elizabeth herself had chosen the statue and she was to unravel it in September. But her death changed the plans.
