Man Shouts Bomb in Flight to London; All Passengers Evacuated at Kolkata Airport

Kolkata: All passengers of a London-bound Qatar Airlines flight were offloaded at the NSC Bose International Airport in Kolkata as a precautionary measure when just before take-off a man started shouting that there was a bomb in the plane.

The Qatar Airways flight to London from Kolkata with 541 passengers was to take take-off at 3.29 am on Tuesday. All of a sudden a passenger started shouting that a bomb was planted in the plane. Immediately the CISF personnel of the airport were alerted.

All the passengers were evacuated from the plane. The aircraft was thoroughly inspected by police with the help of sniffer dogs. But no explosive was found. The CISF took the passenger who shouted bomb in the aircraft into custody for interrogation. During interrogation, the man said that another passenger on the plane told him that there was a bomb in the plane.

The father of this detained man was also interrogated at the Airport police station. The father showed some medical documents to police which stated that his son was undergoing treatment for mental illness.
