Minor Girl Abducted by Finance Company Agent as Father Failed to Repay Loan

Chennai: An 11-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped by a representative of a finance company on Friday in Tamil Nadu as her father failed to pay his loan installments. The accused named Vighnesh (27) was arrested by the police.

The kidnapped girl was the daughter of Vanathu Raja (32), a daily wager. He had taken a loan of Rs 50,000 from a private finance company in Tamil Nadu’s Keeranur. For the last few months, Raja had not deposited the repayment installments.

Vignesh, the finance company’s representative, visited Raja’s home at Maruthur village in Tirunelveli district to collect the outstanding dues. When he could not find Raja, Vighnesh allegedly abducted his 11-year-old daughter and took her to the office of the finance company.

Raja complained about his missing daughter at the Keeranur police station. The police rescued the kidnapped girl from the finance company’s office on Friday.

Vignesh was arrested on Friday in a kidnap case. His bike used in the abduction was also seized.
