Missing Nepal Helicopter Crashed with 5 Mexicans Onboard

The missing private commercial helicopter of Manang Air with six people aboard including five Mexicans crashed in a hilly terrain in Nepal on Tuesday.

The Manang Air NA-MV chopper took off from Surke Airport in Solukhumbu district at 10:04 am for Kathmandu. It lost contact with the control tower after nine minutes.

The helicopter crashed in the Lamjura area in the remote mountainous Solukhumbu district. As per reports, locals saw the helicopter crash with a loud explosion.

The exact reason behind the crash is not known yet. Five Mexican nationals and pilot Chet B Gurung were aboard the helicopter.

The bodies of five of the six people on board the helicopter were found at the crash site, reported MyRepublica news portal citing sources.

Manang Air is a helicopter airline based in Kathmandu that provides chartered services for adventure flights, chopper excursions, and expedition work.
