Naveen Releases Rs 877 Cr KALIA Yojna Support to Over 43 Lakh Peasants

Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of Utkala Dibasa, the foundation day of Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik disbursed monetary assistance worth Rs 877 crore to over 43 lakh farmers under the KALIA scheme.

According to a press release from CM’s office on Saturday, this financial is provided for Kharif season cultivation.

Except for farmers of Jharsuguda district where byelection is to be held on May 10, the peasants of all other districts will receive the KALIA monetary assistance.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik extended best wishes to farmers on Utkala Dibasa and said, “State’s development is linked with the welfare of farmers. ‘Therefore, we started the new financial year by providing KALIA assistance on this auspicious day.”

Stating that Odisha is self-reliant in the production of food grains today, it is able to provide food to the country’s food reserves.

He said that the state government has taken many steps for the development of agriculture. He advised the farmers to use more machines and modern equipment in agriculture. He advised farmers to focus on crop diversification.
