NCERT Revises Class 12th Textbooks, Removes Chapters On ‘Mughal Empire’ From History Syllabus

New Delhi: National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has revised the History curriculum by eliminating the chapters pertaining to the Mughal Empire.

As per the updated curriculum, NCERT has removed the chapters and topics related to ‘Kings and Chronicles; the Mughal Courts (C. 16th and 17th centuries)’ from the history book ‘Themes of Indian History-Part II’.

NCERT has also updated the Class 12 Civics book, removing chapters such as ‘US hegemony in world politics’ and ‘The Cold War Era.’ In addition, the Class 12 ‘Politics in India Since Independence’ textbook will no longer include chapters on ‘Rise of popular movements’ and ‘Era of one-party dominance.’

The NCERT has removed chapters such as ‘Central Islamic lands,’ ‘Confrontation of cultures,’ and ‘The Industrial Revolution’ from the Class 11 textbook ‘Themes In World History’ as per the updated curriculum.
