Odisha’s Sambhab Mishra Conferred Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2023

Cuttack: Sambhab Mishra from Odisha’s Cuttack was conferred with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar-2023.

He received the award from President Droupadi Murmu during a programme held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Monday evening.

Hailing from the Sikharpur area in Cuttack city, Sambhab Mishra was among 11 children awarded at the function for their exceptional achievements. He was selected for the national award for his achievements in the field of Art and Culture.

He was applauded by former Vice President M V Venkaiah Naidu and received appreciation letters from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and spiritual leader Dalai Lama for his books.

Union Women & Child Development Minister Smriti Irani tweeted, “Sambhab Mishra from Odisha has written many noteworthy articles and books for renowned publications. He was bestowed with the prestigious ‘Fellowship of the Royal Asiatic Society, London’, the youngest ever fellow in the 200 years history of the society.”

Notably, 11 children from 11 states/UTs representing the diversity of the nation were nominated for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar instituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, of which five were girls.

Each awardee received a medal, Rs 1 lakh cash prize and a certificate from President Droupadi Murmu and Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani.
