Pilots Savor Gujiya, Cold Drinks in Plane Cockpit; Spicejet Grounds 2 Pilots

New Delhi: Spicejet grounded its two pilots who were found to have consumed gujiya and beverages in the flight cockpit on the occasion of Holi.

These two Spicejet pilots were on the Delhi to Guwahati flight on the day of Holi. They were found to have enjoyed gujiya and beverages kept on a critical console inside the cockpit while the plane was mid-air. According to the Spicejet authorities, an inquiry into the matter is pending. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken upon completion of the investigation.

Both erring pilots were taken off the roster, reported India Today.

A spokesperson for the SpiceJet airline said the company has a strict policy for the consumption of food inside the cockpit which is adhered to by all flight crew.
