PM Modi Holds High-Level Review Meeting on Covid Situation

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a high-level meeting to review the Covid -related situation and public health preparedness.

The meeting is taking place in the wake of rising Covid cases in some states.

Last week, Union Health Ministry asked Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka to follow a five-fold strategy of testing, tracking, treating, vaccinations and adherence to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.

The Ministry had said that there are a few States which are reporting a higher number of cases indicating the possible localised spread of infection.

It stressed on the need to follow a risk assessment-based approach to prevent and contain the infection, without losing the gains made so far in the fight against the pandemic.
