Rare 140 Kg Tortoise Seen in Ganjam Dist

Ganjam: A rare tortoise was seen in the Podampeta area in Odisha’s Ganjam district. The tortoise’s weight is said to be 140 kg and it is 1.45 meters long.

According to reports, the huge tortoise was seen on the sea beach at Podampeta as it had come out of the sea bed. Reportedly, the tortoise was there on the beach for about two hours before venturing again into the sea.

As per the locals who witness the tortoise, it was huge weighing almost 140 kg.

Such rare tortoises are seen in Lakshadweep and the Gulf of Mannar of Gujarat. For the first time, it was seen in Odisha.
