Rising Heart Attacks Among Youngsters may be Related to COVID: TN Health Min  

Chennai: There may be a link between coronavirus infection and the rising trend of heart attacks among the young mass. Suspecting this Tamil Nadu health minister Ma Subramanian, on Sunday, advised the youth to walk or jog to avoid heart attacks.

Subramanian said research is continuing to identify whether the increase in heart attacks among young people is connected to the Coronavirus outbreak. While speaking at an event in Mayiladuthurai of Tamil Nadu, he said heart attacks among youngsters are on the rise in the state.

“Even the World Health Organisation (WHO) is conducting research now. There is an increase in heart attacks. In particular, deaths due to heart attacks among youngsters have increased,” said the health minister of Tamil Nadu.

Ma Subramanian further added, “Research is on to find if Corona is linked to it. The research report is not yet out. So let’s not jump to conclusions. To avoid heart attacks, exercise is important. Please walk or jog daily.”
