Rs 1 Cr Worth Gold Smuggled in Rectum, Two Arrested at Hyderabad Airport

Hyderabad: Two passengers arrived from Dubai at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad with 1705.3 grams of gold worth over 1 crore hidden in their rectums. They were arrested by the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of the Customs Department.

According to sources, acting on intelligence reports, the Customs Department had intercepted these two passengers, who reached India from Dubai on Indigo flight 6E-1484 at 10 PM on Monday.

It was found that they had concealed six capsules containing gold paste wrapped with black tape in their rectum. The seized gold weighed 1705.3 grams worth Rs 1.05 crore. Both were arrested under Indian Customs Act 1962.
