Sadak-2 Actress Imprisoned in Sharjah; Mumbai Police Arrests 2 for Planting Drugs on Her

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Chrisann Pereira, who has acted in films like Sadak-2 and Batla House is now jailed in Sharjah in UAE in a drug-smuggling case. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested two persons on charges of framing the actress by planting drugs in her luggage.

The arrested persons are Anthony Paul and his accomplice Rajesh Babhote. They allegedly handed over a trophy to the actress in which the drug was hidden. The actress carried the trophy to Sharjah, where she was arrested earlier this month when drugs were found inside the trophy.

Investigation revealed that Paul masterminded the plan as an act of revenge against the actress’s mother, Premila Pereira. Investigating officials also discovered that Paul had framed four others in a similar manner.

Mumbai police have decided to contact authorities in the Ministry of External Affairs so that the reports regarding the actress being framed by the accused will be shared with UAE authorities.
