SC Dismisses Plea For Relief By Jailed YouTuber Manish Kashyap Accused Of Spreading Fake News

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday ordered YouTuber Manish Kashyap to file a petition with the appropriate High Court challenging the NSA custody order and other numerous FIRs filed against him. The top court also refused to entertain his plea seeking clubbing of FIRs filed against him in Bihar and Tamil Nadu.

Kashyap is accused of disseminating “fake” news for his reporting on migrants from Bihar, where he claimed that migrant workers were being killed in Tamil Nadu.

He is booked under the National Security Act (NSA).

The Bench declined to take a side in the dispute, but it gave Kashyap the freedom to challenge the invocation of the NSA in his case in an appropriate judicial forum.

Kashyap is facing six FIRs in Tamil Nadu and three in Bihar in connection with the matter.
