Section 144 Imposed in Jeypore Sub-Division

Koraput: The Koraput district administration has imposed Section 144 in the Jeypore Sub-Division area in view of the possible breach of peace, law, and order situation during religious rallies in Hanuman Jayanti.

The restrictions will be in force between 3 PM and 9 PM from April 13 to 20.

According to the official order, public gatherings of more than two persons or any effort to create a public nuisance to prevent public tranquillity and peace will be considered unlawful within the jurisdiction of Jeypore.

Earlier, as many as 10 people including on-duty police personnel sustained injuries in violence that erupted during a bike rally For Hanuman Jayanti in Sambalpur.

As tension escalated, the district administration imposed Section 144 in the city for 48 hours.
