Shraddha Murder’s Odia Rerun: Girl Stabbed 49 Times By Bf For Insisting On Marriage

Bhubaneswar: Since Aaftab Amin Poonawala’s heinous crime surfaced, several similar cases have been reported from across the country. Odias are also not left untouched.

In a recent incident, a girl was taken by her boyfriend from Bhubaneswar to Surat and stabbed around 49 times with a knife.

The accused, identified as Jagannath Goud, took such a heinous step because his girlfriend kept insisting on getting married.

The matter came to light after Surat Police in Gujarat recovered the body of the girl from Anjani Industrial Estate. She was identified as Luni Das, a resident of Bhubaneswar in Odisha.

Investigation revealed that Luni was in a relationship with Jagannath for the past three years.

As she kept insisting on marriage, Jagannath decided to get rid of her. Two weeks back, Goud took the girl to Surat. He then took her to a secluded place and stabbed her to death.

The inhuman accused stabbed her around 49 times in cold blood and left her dead.

Recently, Surat Police arrested Jagannath after examining more than 500 CCTV footages and Luni’s call details. Further investigation into the case is underway.
