Two Movies by Indian Filmmakers to Feature in Cannes Film Festival

The list of movies to be shown in the Cannes Film Festival’s Directors’ Fortnight and Acid sections includes two movies by Indian filmmakers.

Karan Kandhari’s debut feature film Sister Midnight will premiere at the Directors’ Fortnight of the festival. This movie has Radhika Apte and Ashok Pathak. It is produced by Alastair Clark of Wellington Films in collaboration with Filmgate Films, Sean Wheelan and Film i Väst.

The Cannes Directors’ Fortnight will run from May 15 to May 25. Indian-Iranian filmmaker Maisam Ali’s feature film In Retreat has been selected for the Acid section of the Cannes Film Festival. This section is managed by the Association for the Diffusion of Independent Cinema in France (ACID). This section showcases unique and independent films from around the world.

Added to it, Payal Kapadia’s debut feature film All We Imagine as Light was selected for screening in the competition section at the Cannes Film Festival this year.
