US Man Shoots Dead 5 Neighbours for Objecting to His Shooting Practice

A man shot dead five neighbors after being asked to stop shooting practice with a semiautomatic rifle in Cleveland, Texas in America. The assailant, Francisco Oropesa (38) is accused of opening fire on neighbors after being asked to stop shooting an AR-15-style rifle late Friday because it was keeping a baby awake.

The victims included an 8-year-old boy. The accused escaped after the shootout. Over 200 law enforcement personnel were going door-to-door looking for the suspect or any tips on how to find him. A reward of 80,000 dollars has been declared for information that will lead to the suspect’s arrest.

The suspect came out of his house on Friday night and started shooting from his yard. When some of the victims stepped out to ask him to stop as a baby were sleeping, the assailant went into their houses and shot them in the head. All five deceased were from Honduras.

Mass shootings have become commonplace in the United States. Till now at least 176 persons have died due to mass shootings in the US in 2023.
