UTP Escapes From SCB Hospital In Cuttack

Cuttack: Police are on the hunt for an under-trial prisoner (UTP), who escaped from the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Cuttack city this morning.

The undertrial prisoner has been identified as Sajan Das, who was arrested in connection with a theft case.

Reportedly, the prisoner who was undergoing treatment, escaped from the hospital wearing a saree on the pretext of using the washroom.

The matter came to light when the Choudwar police filed a complaint in this connection at the Marsalbag police station on Friday. A case under Section 224 of the IPC has been registered.

Following the daring escape, Cuttack police conducted raids at some places in Jagatsinghpur and Nyali on Friday. A special team has been formed to nab the escaped prisoner.
