Woman Fined Rs 5000 for Throwing Stone at Bus that did not Halt at Her Stop

Bengaluru: A woman named Lakshmi of Karnataka had to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 for throwing a stone at a bus that did not stop at a bus stop where she was waiting.

She was waiting at a bus stop to return back to her home in Ilkal village, after offering prayers at the Huligemma temple at Huligi in the Koppal district.

Although she waited for long, no bus stopped at the bus stop where she was standing. Irked by it, she threw a stone at the Koppal-Hosapete non-stop bus, causing damage to one of its windows.

The bus driver stopped the bus and allowed Lakshmi to board it. The driver then drove the bus to Munirbad police station to register a complaint against the erring woman.

At the police station, Lakshmi apologized and paid up a fine of Rs 5,000. Later, she travelled to her village, Ilkal, on the same bus.
