Youth Kills Blackmailer Transgender Partner in Delhi; Two Accused Arrested

New Delhi: Two persons were arrested in connection to the alleged murder of a transgender named Minal alias Abhishek Tomar in New Delhi. The victim was brought to Delhi AIIMS Hospital, where she was declared dead.

The arrested persons were Sonu Kumar, a resident of UP’s Azamgarh, and Himanshu Kumar from Delhi. Investigation into the call detail records (CDR) and CCTV footage from a camera installed near the crime spot led to the arrests.

According to police sources, Himanshu was an old friend of the deceased transgender. He usually visited the flat of the transgender Minal. But the initial investigation has proved that the transgender was blackmailing Himanshu for money. She was threatening to disclose their relationship to Himanshu’s parents if he did not pay the demanded money to her.

To escape from the clutches of this blackmailing transgender partner, Himanshu had planned to murder her with help of his father’s employee, Sonu Kumar. He had promised to give a new mobile phone to Sonu after the successful execution of the crime.

Both of them had allegedly stabbed the transgender to death on January 10 in her apartment.
