Youth of the Country is Benefiting from India’s Defence Sector Reforms: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today stated that the youth of the country is benefiting from India’s defence sector reforms. He said this is the time for new opportunities for the youth of India as India’s time has arrived.

Addressing the annual NCC-PM rally at the Cariappa Parade Ground in New Delhi this evening, Mr Modi said Yuva Shakti is the driving force of India’s development journey. He said new sectors are opening up for the youth in India today. He stressed that the youth is benefiting from this, be it India’s startup revolution or the innovation revolution.

Prime Minister said India’s space sector is the biggest example of what happens when the nation trusts the youth of the nation and believes in their ideas. He said that no goal is impossible when such massive youth power is engaged in nation-building.

He said that in the last eight years, the number of women in the police and paramilitary forces has doubled. He said that there is the deployment of women in all three wings of the armed forces today.

Prime Minister said that the mantra of unity is the mantra for the future of India, and this is the only way for India to achieve grandeur. He pointed out that one lakh NCC cadets have joined the occasion from the border and coastal areas and this demonstrates India’s youth power.

Mr Modi said NCC is also completing 75 years when India is celebrating its milestone of 75 years of Independence. He congratulated the entire team of NCC.

During the event, the Prime Minister released a special Day Cover and a commemorative specially Minted Coin of 75 rupees denomination, commemorating 75 successful years of NCC. The flagging in of the NCC Unity Flame Run was also held on the occasion.

In the true Indian spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, 196 officers and cadets from 19 foreign countries were invited to be a part of the rally.
