5 Cops Injured as Van Hits Tree During Cattle Smuggling Chase in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: Five police personnel sustained serious injuries when their van collided with a tree during a high-speed chase of a cattle-laden vehicle in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Friday.

Sources indicate that the incident occurred near Beltikri village as the police van was pursuing a vehicle suspected of illegally transporting cattle. In the course of the chase, the van lost control and crashed into a roadside tree, leaving five officers seriously injured.

The injured personnel were first taken to a local hospital in Dhenkanal for immediate treatment before being transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced care.
