5 Killed, Over 5 Injured As Pick-Up Van Mows Down Auto In Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A speeding pick-up van rammed into an auto rickshaw killing at least five people on Saturday near Basantpur under the Pandapada police limits in Keonjhar.

The accident also left five others critically injured.

The pick-up van struck the hapless auto-rickshaw as it was carrying eight passengers towards Keonjhar. The accident happened near a sharp turn on the road.

The pick-up van’s high speed caused it to lose control and crash into the auto-rickshaw. Locals rescued the injured and rushed them in an ambulance to the Keonjhar hospital.

Police arrived at the scene, and an investigation into the incident has begun.
