Bansadhara River on risk codes

Gajapati: Due to heavy rains, a flood situation has arisen in Gajapati. The Bansadhara flows on the danger code. At 6 am on Sunday, the water level of the river in Kushinagar has risen to 54.75 meters. The danger code here is 54.60 meters and the water level has increased due to high rainfall in the upper part.

Meanwhile, keeping in view the increasing water level, all 22 gates of a local barrage have been opened. 73 cusecs of water are being drained in it. If the amount of rain increases further or if the rain continues overhead, the risk of flooding will increase. Eleven panchayats including Kashinagar notified council area and the Gunpur subdivision of Rayagada district is expected to be affected if the water rises.
