Bhubaneswar: 30 Held in Connection with Dussehra Pandals Snatching Spree

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have reportedly detained 30 individuals, including six women, for snatching gold ornaments, mobile phones, and wallets from people attending Puja pandals on Mahastami during the Dussehra celebrations in Bhubaneswar.

The suspects are being held at Khandagiri, Mancheswar, Laxmisagar, Nayapalli, and Sahid Nagar police stations. The police are currently interrogating the detainees, and various stolen items have been recovered.

Notably, eight snatchers were nabbed at the Bomikhal Puja pandal, where they had snatched gold chains from four women. Additionally, six women from other states have been detained in connection with snatching incidents at various Puja pandals in the capital city.

The police have advised the public to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
