Berhampur SP busts sex racket posing as a customer; 10 arrested

Berhampur: The Berhampur Police busted a sex racket that was running in a guest house in Berhampur and arrested 10 persons in this connection on Tuesday.

The raid team led by Berhampur SP (Superintendent of Police) also rescued four sex workers from the guest house.

Following the tip-off about the illegal activities being carried out at a guest house at Berhampur’s premier location Tata Benz square, a plan was hatched by the SP to catch the accused red-handed.

According to sources, the SP himself went as a customer in plain clothes to the guest house. Later, he alerted the cops of Gosaninuagaon and Baidyanathpur police stations who jointly conducted a surprise raid and made the arrests.

A case was registered and all 14 people including the sex workers were taken to the police station where they are being interrogated, police said.
