RTO Takes Legal Action Against Ola, Uber & Rapido for Operating Without Licenses in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Transport Officer (RTO) in Bhubaneswar has taken legal action against ride-hailing companies Ola, Uber, and Rapido for operating without the required aggregator licenses within the city and its vicinity.

In a formal complaint submitted to the Saheed Nagar police, the RTO highlighted that only two-wheeler vehicles registered as transport can be used by aggregator services. However, these companies have been found to be intentionally using non-transport two-wheelers without the necessary licenses.

Despite repeated warnings, these firms have continued to violate the law by engaging in the illegal operation of two-wheelers, leading to strong objections from the local auto association and other commercial vehicle associations.

The RTO has called for strict criminal action to be taken against the aforementioned individuals due to their consistent disregard for motor vehicle laws.
