Ola Cab Driver Kidnapped in Bhubaneswar, Ransom Demand of ₹10 Lakh

Bhubaneswar: In a distressing incident on Thursday night, unidentified assailants reportedly abducted a cab driver associated with Ola in the Krishna Vihar area of Patrapada, Odisha.

The victim, Shankarshan Das, was kidnapped around 8 PM outside his residence, as detailed in a complaint filed by his wife with the Khandagiri police.

The kidnappers allegedly thrashed Shankarshan and subsequently initiated a video call with his wife, showcasing his injuries. During the call, they demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh for his release. Responding to the extortion, the woman transferred Rs 2 lakh to the assailants through internet banking.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, with ongoing efforts to locate and secure the release of the victim while arresting the perpetrators.
