Prank Gone Wrong: 4 Teenage Students Land In Jail for Kidnapping Stunt in Nagpur

Nagpur: Four teenage students were detained by the police for attempting a prank video involving the staged kidnapping of a Class 11 boy in Maharashtra’s Nagpur. According to reports, the event unfolded on Monday morning in the Pratap Nagar area.

The individuals involved, two of whom recently appeared for their Class 12 examinations and two others preparing for the NEET exam, allegedly coerced the victim, Aadesh, 17, into a white car while he was accompanied by friends Yash and Vedant on their way to class. Fortunately, the timely arrival of Aadesh’s friends thwarted the attempt, prompting the perpetrators to flee the scene.

Subsequently, Aadesh reported the incident to his teacher, who accompanied him to the local police station to file a complaint. Following the complaint, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and initiated an investigation.

Through CCTV footage analysis, the police identified the primary culprit as Sushant, 18, leading to the detention of him and his accomplices – Shreyash, Yash, and Arnav, all aged 18. During interrogation, the teenagers confessed to the prank video attempt, which they intended to share on social media.

Parents of the detained teenagers were shocked upon learning of their children’s actions and appealed to the police for leniency. Following undertakings from the teenagers and their parents, the police released them with a warning notice.
