CMC Raids Eateries & Hotels In Cuttack; 3 Sealed

Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) carried out raids on hotels and eateries operating without appropriate permissions.

Today, the CMC Food Safety team headed by Health Officer Dr Satyabrata Mahapatra conducted raids on at least a dozen hotels between Seminary Chowk and Baropathar areas.

Three hotels were sealed for violating the prescribed guidelines, Dr Mahapatra said adding that these hotels which were operating without food, trade license and other user fee.

The CMC Food Safety team spotted irregularities in maintaining hygiene and use of colours in food items. The materials have been seized and sent for testing. Earlier on Wednesday,

On Wednesday, the CMC Food Safety team inspected various hotels, sweet shops and restaurants in the city.

The team examined the hygiene factors, licenses and other necessary documents. Penalty was also imposed on some units violating the food safety standards.
