Congress Serves Show-Cause Notices to Chiranjib Biswal & Md. Moquim For Anti-Party Remarks

Bhubaneswar: The disciplinary committee of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has issued show-cause notices to senior Congress leader Chiranjib Biswal and Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammed Moquim.

These notices were served due to allegations of making anti-party statements.

These notices were issued in response to remarks made by Biswal and Moquim during a function at Suchana Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on May 8. At the event, Biswal criticized the selection of the party candidate for the Jharsuguda by-poll and raised concerns about the campaign committee led by the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president. He also mentioned the lack of unity within the party, with 20 leaders aspiring to become chief ministers despite there being only nine MLAs.

It’s worth noting that neither Moquim nor Biswal were included in the list of star campaigners for the party.

However, Moquim claims that he has not yet received a show-cause notice. This is the first such notice for Chiranjib Biswal, while Moquim had previously been served a show cause notice for voting in favour of President Droupadi Murmu during the Presidential polls.
