Couple Hacked To Death Over Witchcraft Suspicion In Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A couple was brutally hacked to death by some unidentified miscreants at Jhumukipatia Sahi under Daitari police limits in Keonjhar district on Sunday wee hours.

The deceased have been identified as Bahada Murmu and his wife Dhani Murmu of the same village.

Though the reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, locals suspect that the miscreants committed the crime over witchcraft suspicion.

According to sources, the matter came to light when Badaha’s daughter Sinigo came outside in the wee hours on Sunday and found her parents in the pool of blood.

Immediately she informed the neighbours and other locals and they informed the police the same.

On being informed, Harichandanpur and Daitari police officials read the spot and initiated the probe after sending the bodies to a nearby hospital for autopsy.

Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused persons. Prima-facie reveals that this incident is an outcome of past rivalry.
