Drunk Husband Kills Wife Using Umbrella Stick in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: In a heartbreaking incident in Nabarangpur district, Odisha today a woman named Sasmita Khilo, a resident of Badadaibhata village under Nabarangpur Town police limits, lost her life after a heated argument with her husband, Rabi Khilo. The couple, who had two sons, earned their livelihood by selling roasted corn at a roadside stall.

According to local sources, the couple’s relationship had been strained due to Rabi’s regular alcohol consumption, leading to frequent quarrels between them. However, today’s dispute took a deadly turn when Rabi allegedly attacked Sasmita with the stick of an umbrella in a fit of rage, causing fatal injuries.

Upon receiving the information, the police quickly arrived at the scene, where they discovered Sasmita’s lifeless body. The authorities have taken custody of the body for postmortem examination. Additionally, Rabi, the accused, has been detained for further investigation.
