Bhubaneswar: In a major amendment to the Odisha Civil Services (OCS) Examinations conducted by Odisha Public Services Commission (OPSC), the state cabinet approved
The single optional paper choice for candidates. Earlier aspirants used to select optional papers but with the amendment to Odisha Civil Services (Combined Competitive Recruitment Examination) Rules, 1991, now candidates will have to appear for the examination of a single optional paper.
The amendment also includes more attempts for Un-Reserved (UR) candidates. It has become six numbers instead of four. The Cabinet has also approved that the interested aspirants can appear in the examinations in the Odia language
This apart, the total marks in the OCS examination has also been rationalised. Henceforth, candidates will have to appear for a total of 2000 marks instead of 2250 marks earlier.
