Janata Maidan Declared ‘No-Flying Zone’ Ahead of PM Modi’s Odisha Visit

Bhubaneswar: Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar has been declared a “no-flying zone” and “no-drone zone” ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Odisha next week. The move is part of heightened security measures for the Prime Minister’s visit, where he will launch the Odisha government’s flagship Subhadra Yojana and several other projects on September 17.

A senior official confirmed, “In light of the Prime Minister’s presence at Janata Maidan, the area has been designated as a no-flying and no-drone zone as a security precaution.”

PM Modi’s visit coincides with his birthday on September 17, during which he will inaugurate the Subhadra Yojana, a key welfare scheme for women promised by the BJP.

The Special Protection Group (SPG) officers have already arrived in Bhubaneswar to oversee the security arrangements. They will ensure Modi’s safety from his arrival at the airport until his departure. The SPG team is set to visit Janata Maidan to review the final security setup.

A high-level meeting was conducted in Bhubaneswar on Friday to review preparations for the visit. The Chief Secretary, DGP, and IGP were tasked with managing security and law enforcement. The Khurdha district administration and the Women and Child Development Department officials have also been directed to ensure smooth arrangements for the event.
