Leopard & Deer Skin Seized in Nayagarh

Nayagard: Skins of two leopards and one deer was seized in Nayagarh district of Odisha. The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch seized the animal skins during a raid near Kuanria dam under Dasapalla police station limits.

Two persons involved in the illegal trading of wild animal skins were arrested. One of them was identified as Bhagabat Majhi.

Basing on information gathered from the interrogation of earlier arrested smugglers of wild animal body parts, a team of STF along with Banigochha Forest Officials had conducted a raid near Kuanria Dam.

During the raid, two leopard skins along with other wildlife products were recovered from the house of the accused.

A case was registered in this regard under relevant sections of the IPC, Arms Act, and Wild Life (Protection) Act. Further investigation into the case is underway.
