Man Shot At Over Land Dispute In Rourkela

Rourkela: A man sustained grievous injuries after he was shot at over land dispute at Jhiripani village in Sundergarh district.

One Bancha Tanti was murdered by Chunu Oram after the former tried to acquire a portion of the Government land encroached upon by the latter.

According to reports, Chunu runs a racket of encroaching on Government land in Jharitola Basti area under Jhiripani police limits, and let plots on vacant Government land on rent.

Bancha, on the other hand, expressed his desire to take possession of a part of the land, which led to the clash, leading to his death.

There was great commotion in Jharitola basti following the fatal firing incident.

Locals blocked the Koel Nagar – Jhiripani main road for around two hours demanding compensation for the family of the deceased. Local police have set up a special team to nab Chunu and his associates.
