Jharsuguda: Two miscreants were arrested on Thursday for allegedly kidnapping a 15-year-old boy from Krishna Apartment in the Sarbahal area of Jharsuguda town.
The accused persons have been identified as Amit Kumar Sharma and Dinesh Agarwal.
Addressing a presser, SP Parmar Smit Parshottamdas said that the police on March 27 had received a report that a 15-year-old boy had gone missing at around 3.30 PM.
The missing boy’s father received a call at around 8.30 PM on the same day and the caller had demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh for releasing the child.
Parmar Smit told that after receiving the report three special teams of the police were formed to trace the missing boy and conduct a proper investigation of the case.
“With the help of special teams, scanning of CCTV footage, other electronic evidence and information from the neighbouring district and on the intervening night of 28-29 night we got some clues and were able to locate and apprehend the accused persons,” said Parmar Smit sharing on how the police zeroed-in on the accused persons.
He said that during interrogation the police has come to know that the accused Amit Kumar Sharma was close to the family of the missing boy.
Further investigations are underway.
