Nine Vital Proposals Approved By Odisha Cabinet

Bhubaneswar: Nine significant decisions pertaining to the departments of Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, General Administration and Public Grievances, and Skill Development and Technical Education were made at the Odisha Cabinet Committee meeting on Saturday, which was presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The cabinet has approved the tenders for the construction of significant piped water supply projects in four districts, according to Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra and Principal Secretary General Administration and Public Grievance Surendra Kumar. These projects will include the elimination of the contractual recruitment system and the regularisation of contractual workers.

These included five projects for Tangi, Bhubaneswar, Balipatna, and Balianata blocks of Khordha district; two projects for Thuamul Rampur and Kokara blocks of Kalahandi district; two rural pipe water supply projects for Ranpur and Odagaon blocks of Nayagarh district, tendered for around Rs 395.43 crores; projects for Ambabhona, Bhatil, and Sohela blocks of Bargarh.

The CS added that the Cabinet also approved the waiver of rent of SDC and SDECs for the period from March 2020 to October 2020 due to Covid-19, amending the rules for the Odisha Group-B, C, and D Posts (Repeal and Special Provisions)-2022, the Junior Assistants, ASOs, and SOs Rules-2019, the Conditions of Service for Junior Assistants, ASOs, and SOs Rules-2019, the Rules for the Combined Technical Service Recruitment Examination, and the Rules for the Combined Post-Graduate Level Recruitment Examination for Specialist.
