Odisha Braces for Chilly Mornings with Patchy Dense Fog: IMD Issues Yellow Warning

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar has forecasted dense fog in several districts of Odisha over the next 48 hours. The absence of a significant synoptic system in the region is expected to contribute to this weather phenomenon.

According to the mid-day bulletin from the IMD, minimum temperatures have observed a noticeable drop in South Interior Odisha, while other districts show no significant changes. Temperature forecasts indicate that minimum temperatures will remain relatively stable over the next five days, with a slight increase of 2°C to 3°C above normal in many places across Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature, recorded at 30.8°C, was in Paralakhemundi, while the lowest minimum temperature, at 9.5°C, was reported in Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Weather predictions for the next two days in Odisha highlight dry conditions across the districts. Shallow to moderate fog is expected in various places, with a yellow warning issued for dense fog in specific districts, including Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Koraput, and Rayagada.

For Monday, dry weather is anticipated to persist, with shallow to moderate fog predicted in different regions. A yellow warning is in place for dense fog in select districts, including Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, and Koraput.
