Bhubaneswar: In a significant step towards improving the living conditions of slum dwellers in Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated three housing complexes today. These complexes, namely Keshari Residency in Satya Nagar, Buddha Vihar in Chandrasekharpur, and Barunei Enclave in Subudhipur are part of the Saharanchal Awas Yojana urban housing scheme.
Keshari Residency, catering to residents from Shantipalli, has already distributed 560 pucca houses out of a total of 840 planned units. During the inauguration, Patnaik personally handed over keys to 314 beneficiaries, highlighting the progress made under the scheme.
Barunei Enclave, designed for residents of Tarini Basti, also witnessed the turnover of over 300 houses during the event.
The urban housing scheme, with a target of providing 7,000 pucca houses, has already constructed 1,700 units. Each dwelling features a bedroom, hall, kitchen, latrine, and bathroom, contributing to an overall upliftment in living standards for the beneficiaries.
Further distributions are expected in the coming days.
