Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Meets Mamata Banerjee to Address Potato Crisis

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held talks with West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in New Delhi on Saturday to discuss the ongoing potato shortage in Odisha. The meeting comes amid reports of price hikes and trucks allegedly using unauthorized routes to transport potatoes into the state.

Majhi requested Banerjee to improve the potato supply chain between the two states. The Odisha CM emphasized the urgency of resolving the issue, citing artificial price increases due to supply restrictions from West Bengal. Both leaders are in the capital for the NITI Aayog meeting.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) of Odisha released a statement detailing the discussions between the two leaders. The potato crisis has been causing concern among Odisha residents, prompting this high-level intervention.
