Odisha Govt Plans to Offer Free Mahaprasad to Devotees at Puri Srimandir

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced plans to offer ‘Mahaprasad’ of Lord Jagannath free of cost to devotees visiting the Puri Srimandir, according to Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Saturday.

While the start date and logistics of the distribution have not yet been detailed, Harichandan confirmed that discussions are underway to finalise the blueprint.

Additionally, an interpretation centre, or Bhyakhyana Kendra, will be established in Puri to provide information on the various rituals and Jagannath culture associated with the Srimandir.

Harichandan, speaking at the Ratha Seva Sammana-2024 event, also revealed that plans are being developed to enhance safety and security at the temple using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to facilitate a smooth darshan experience for devotees.
