Bhubaneswar: In a significant development, the Odisha Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has given its approval to extend the relaxation in the upper age limit for government jobs in the state for the calendar year 2024.

Building on a prior initiative, the state government had previously announced a relaxation in the upper age limit for the Odisha Civil Services examinations and various other government positions for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. During this period, the upper age limit was increased from 32 years to 38 years, providing aspiring candidates with expanded opportunities to pursue government services.

Following a recent Cabinet meeting, an official confirmed that the relaxation in the upper age limit for government jobs in Odisha would persist throughout the calendar year 2024. This decision reflects the government’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and offering increased chances for individuals to join the public sector workforce.

The extension of the upper age limit relaxation is expected to positively impact aspiring candidates, providing them with an extended timeframe to apply for government positions in the state. This move aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to attract a diverse pool of talent and promote a more inclusive and dynamic public service sector in Odisha.
